Following an Atlanta Swimming Association (ASA) Adult League 1st place performance in 2018, the defending league champion Garden Hills Adult Cool Sharks look to repeat in 2019!
Our 2019 practices will begin in mid-May and extend through at least mid -August. Practices are scheduled Monday through Thursday from 6:30 AM to 7:20 AM, and Saturday at 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Practices are led by experienced competitive swimmers and coaches. This swim team is comprised of dozens of swimmers of all ages (20’s to 60’s) and skill levels. There are dedicated practice swim lanes for those that are faster, to intermediate speeds, to more relaxed or beginner swimmers. We also provide as-needed coaching with strokes, flip turns, and racing dives. New adult swimmers join every year— some haven’t swum a meet in years or decades—or ever!
The ASA Adult League is set up for swimmers age 19 and up. Swimmers compete in 10 year age group increments (19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79…..) and relays are a fun and high scoring part of every meet. The ASA Adult League is geared to swimmers of varied speed and skill levels that are leading a busy lifestyle. In other words, if you enjoy a social group– and meets without high pressure– this league is for you! In fact, the league coordinator calls it the league for “beer drinkers that like to swim!” There will be 5 swim meets this summer— early June through the Championship Meet in mid-August. The first 4 meets are normally held on Friday evenings with a cookout/ social scheduled after most meets.
The 2019 fee structure:
Garden Hills Pool fee—May $15, June & July $30 each, August/ September TBA based on practices scheduled. (covers coaches, kickboards, home meet cookout, etc.…)
Atlanta Swimming Association fee—Approximately $45 for the full summer. (age 25 and under is a $10 fee) – (Covers personnel expenses and timing equipment/computers required for the meets, insurance, certain cookout food at away meets.)
